How was skaro survived a supernova can give me different explanaNATIONS FROM THIS IN war of the daleks

It's possible that Skaro was not destroyed by the supernova, but it's surface was left terribly burnt. The Daleks could have had shields around their planet which prevented their planet being totally destroyed but Skaro was still severly damaged and burnt.
